Used Cars And The Myths Associated With Them

Used cars and buying used cars are both shadowed by countless myths. Mercedes Benz of Fort Walton Beach, serving Wright, FL, invites you to read this blog post which aims to debunk some of those myths. We hope you enjoy reading used cars and the myths associated with them and learn from it!

Used Cars Have Lower Value

This is wrong. Used cars, if you look at them closely, have more value. Why? Because the depreciation on used cars is much less than that on a new one. It fades away with time. Why buy a new car, then?

The same applies to insurance. New cars have a very-hefty price tag on insurance. Think again, how exactly do you define value now?

What You See Is What You Pay For

You can haggle to your heart’s content as it is a buyers’ market after all. Most people are made to believe they have no power. But, you have more power than you realize – especially if the economy is in your favor. So, do not for a second think that a high-cost car is out of your range; you can tone the price down. The prices advertised are not necessarily the final prices. Most of these advertisements are a major buyer-repellant. Don’t let them deter you, though; you got this!

It’s Impossible to Negotiate

Negotiation is in no way difficult. People make it difficult themselves. So, it is not impossible to negotiate. Just get it done the right and required way. To get the best deal possible, you just have to know how. Before starting negotiations, ask about the price, and don’t let them get you with the old “it’s already on sale” ploy.

High Mileage Is a Bad Thing

Used vehicles have been tested over time. They have, hence, higher mileage. Those that do not are either too new or slightly new. High-mileage means the vehicle has performed. This is not bad at all and in any way. In fact, you will not find a more reliable car than one with high mileage. So, go for it!

Successful, Frequent Sellers are Reliable

Successful, frequent sellers can be considered reliable because so many people are buying from them. However, do not fail to do your own research. Never take other customers’ words. You need to go through the experience yourself. After all, whose advice would you take if not your own? Go to a frequent seller but do not straightaway choose to trust them.

So, don’t be shy. Go ahead and buy yourself a nice used car. Those myths will not haunt you or your purchase. In fact, if you want to be absolutely sure, you should check out our inventory and/or schedule a service with us. We at Mercedes Benz of Fort Walton Beach, serving Wright, FL, are excited to help you find the car you’ve always wanted!
